Art has been a love of mine from the time I was very small.  My dad put up a large
blackboard in the kitchen to help my sisters and me learn our math.  It was "really" my
drawing board!

I began most of my formal art education after moving to Birmingham, Alabama in the
1970's.  At that time the influence was non representational.  I now enjoy producing
work that is somewhat representational, whimsical and has bold colors!  However, I also
produce work that is just the opposite...when the figure is part of my paintings, it is
taken from live models.  A lot of my inspiration comes from time spent with X8, a
Birmingham figure drawing group.

Usually, I work in mixed media on paper.  My favorite combinations are water color,
gouache and oil pastels.
