Waltraud Lawaczeck
Waltraud Lawaczeck was born in Bavaria, Germany.  She studied French in Paris and spent much of her time at
the Louvre.  After moving to the United States in 1958, she pursued her interest in art after her four children
left for college.  Waltraud began taking local workshops and experimenting with painting techniques.  She has
studied with Novella King, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Ray Vinella, Taos, New Mexico; and Joe Abbrescia,
Scottsdale, Arizona.

Waltraud's favorite subjects include old buildings and landscapes with vibrant colors.  Along with her works in
oils, she also paints icons with acrylic and goldleaf on wood.

She has commissioned through Architectural Arts in Dallas, Texas, to paint with large local scenes for South
Central Bell.  Waltraud has had a group showing in Vail, Colorado, and a one-woman show with the Art Alliance
in Birmingham.  Her works are included in growing private and corporate collections.

This artist is available for portrait commissions, done from her own photography. Her oil paintings will not look
like a painted photo but ratherimpressionistic. The fee for  a 16x20 portrait is $800. with a down
payment of $400.

She has studied with David Leffel, Ovanes Berberiam, Alan Wolton,Sherrie McGraw and local artist John
Lonergan. She is known for her manyfloral, still lifes and landscapes which hang in many homes and corporate
offices.
