Charlene's works of art praise the Creator's Spirit with strong emotion, brilliant color and imagination. She prefers using acrylic paint on canvas or illustration board. She also paints paper with acrylic paint which is then cut or torn and secured to illustration board to make collages. Acrylic paint works best for her because she works fast. Acrylics dry quickly allowing her to make changes almost instantly during the creative process.

Charlene Howard studied art at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama where she received the B.A. degree in Studio Art in 1983 concentrating in painting. She has exhibited in several museums and galleries in the Southeast, including Birmingham's "Magic City Art Connection." Charlene's artwork has been collected by many individuals. The artist lives in Birmingham, Alabama.
