Lisa has been designing and making jewelry for over five years. Lately,
her focus has shifted towards wire working. However, she still enjoys
many other aspects of beading. At any given time, you might find Lisa
stringing beads, shaping, pounding, or hammering wire for textural effect.
She is always looking for new ideas and different techniques for making
various findings as well as actual jewelry. If a component cannot be located
or does not exist, it is usually possible for her to create it. Anything
from glass and crystals to pearls, gemstones, cool vintage pieces, or
even fun rocks might find their way into her jewelry. Lisa works in different
mediums from handmade lampwork beads to metal art clay beads and pendants
that she then incorporates into her jewelry. Her current favorite is Sterling
silver wire.
She has taught countless classes at The Bead Biz in Helena, Alabama including wire-wrapped pendants, rings, and many, many bracelets. Lisa has attended numerous workshops with other artists and has studied at the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, in North Georgia. If she cannot find someone to show her, Lisa usually makes up a technique as she goes along. Her work has shown in several local venues as well as regional arts and craft shows including Birminghams Artwalk. She is currently a member artist with Jennifer Harwell Art. |
