Born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, Wanda had a love for art at an early age. Wanda studied art in Dayton, Ohio and WSA, LI, NY. She dabbled in many areas of art until about 1980, when she began to focus on the fine art of painting in oils and watercolors. During that time she studied under several nationally known instructors.

Eight years ago she founded the Alabama Pastel Society and began working in pastels as one of her mediums. She taught private art classes in Birmingham, AL, where she lived for 27 years and still has a residence. They also have a temporary home in Mena, AR, where her husband is working. Many of her landscapes are inspired by the scenery of beautiful Ouachita Mountain area of Arkansas in the town of Mena. The area has inspired her in landscape work.

Impressionistic realism expresses the style of Wanda's work. She works in pastels, watercolors, oils and acrylics. Her subjects are varied and each have an effective focus and impact area that makes the difference between a picture and a work of art. Wanda's work is seen in private and corporate collections in the Midwest and South. She has been selected and awarded in many national shows gaining signature status in both the Alabama Pastel Society, Alabama Watercolor Society and Experimental Artists. She has
held numerous One Woman Shows.
